I've been very busy the past few weeks, been putting in a lot of hrs in the poker tables. this months has the potential of being my best month ever! Am up close to 20k and there is still two weeks left in the month. I Know am playing very well, but i also know am hitting my draws more then usual. Am taking a couple days off then am back to commence casino.
Let me give you a few examples why i've been successful playing poker for a living for the past 4 yrs.
-table selection.. When i sit down at a 5/10,10/20nl or a 40/80 game.. i play for a few orbits if i don't notice at least a couple of donkeys.(some may argue you only need one live one to make it a good game..but its l.a its okay to be greedy..kidding)then i switch tables. but am not a nit and I seldom ever move more then once a session.
-Exercising, i work out at least 4-5 times a week. I notice after a nice work out am more alert and focus at the poker tables.
-Sexy time, when your at the poker table you should never be distracted by women. It's funny i see guys playing good aggressive poker but when a nice looking girl sits at our table. they get distracted and rather then playing winning poker they focus more of there attention on getting laid. That's why its really important that your not sexually frustrated when your playing poker. If u want to get laid go to a club. And if you still cant get none, then hit up "TJ: ..LOL
poker friends, if you really want to get serious and play poker in a different level. then have some poker friends who play poker better then you do. someone who understand what your going through. But more importantly to talk poker strategy to. and am not talking about bad beat stories.
also remember when your at a poker table and someone ask's you "how have you been running" always answer great.. even if your not. its psychological
other news am going to cut off a couple of girl's in my life. there getting to clingy and always wanting my attention. And am the type of guy who loves his freedom and not ready to be tide down. but always keeping one eye open for that right girl just in case..

dating life of a poker pro

when I was attending college and playing poker online i never had a problem meeting women. Either in the classroom, Sporting events, colleges parties.. ect. but when I moved to california and started playing poker full-time in the casino. (which the ratio between man and women are 40-1) its pretty difficult to find a nice girl. And even if you find a girl that is worth your wild, you still have to deal with all the competition at the table. which is a big hassle! but some how and same way am still able to meet women outside of the poker tables.
scenario 1- 26/f/1child/gov job- been dating this girl for about 6 months. dont want to get involved in a serious relationship with her. for couple of reasons she's doesn't have a positive out look in life, and she's not into the activities that i am. but we do have GREAT sexual chemistry. other then that their isnt much to say..
scenario 2- 27/f/0child/tax account- i met her while i was doing my taxes . actually she was the one who was doing my taxes.. very attractive has a great sense of humor. set up a date for this thursday to head to the laugh factory. but i had to cancel today, because am still feeling pretty sick and not in the mood to mingle.
scenario 3- 20/f/0chil/student.. very nice girl, been talking to her for about two years (been friends most of the 2 yrs). She lives in pullmen and attends WSU. she's going to come over for spring break. i dont a long distance relationships so i dont see anything good coming out of this. do you?
scenario 4- 25/f/1child/secretary- friend introduce me . i ended sleeping with her on the first night that we met (last Saturday) she seems like a pretty cool girl, but once it comes that easy she automatically becomes a object rather then g/f material
I guess its fair to say that i dont want a girl giving it up to me that easy, but at the same time i dont want her to be putting her virgina in a pedestal either.
other news poker has been going well the past 6 session has made me a little over 8k. even tho most this month has been disappointing. i still ended up having a respectable month.

I finally purchase a new laptop and now am ready to post some new blogs.
poker news- I really felt like i was going to be starting this new year with a bang, since a week before Christmas break i was crushing the tables. making a little over 18k in December. unfortunately this month hasn't been as smooth. here are my results playing mostly 500nl (5-10blinds), 15 hrs of 20/40 limit and 20 hrs of 40/80limit.. keep in my mind that i play 40hrs of poker each week.

The Life of a Poker Pro

Playing poker professionally for the past four years has been a "Roller Coaster." It all started when I was a senior in high school and made my first $50 deposit into party poker. I built my bankroll to 400 dollars and was instantly addicted to Texas hold 'em. By the end of the week I lost my "br" and another 300 dollars. I was very disappointed, but after saving up some money I decided to give it one more shot. Instead of playing the cash games, I decided to try out the 10-1 sng. Somehow without reading any poker literature I started killing the 10-1 sng. It wasn't that I was doing anything magical, it was more like the players were so bad. I wouldn't even play a hand unless it was aa, kk, qq, ak, or jj or until the blinds were 50-100. But by then half the players were already eliminated.
After building a solid BR of about $4k I heard about an opportunity to become a "prop poker player." So when I moved to Spokane, Washington for college I decided not to get a normal j.o.b, but instead decided to live off my poker winnings. I was making about 12 bucks an hour on my winnings, and a little over 20 bucks an hour on my rake back deal. After a couple of years I was averaging between 40-45k a year. That might not sound like much to you guys depending were you live, but when you live in a city were the average wage is between 25-30k a year and you're making a little over 40k then life is pretty fucking great.
after attending college for a few years I decided to take a shot and move to L.A. I looked through craigslist to try and find a couple of roommates to live with. My living expenses in L.A. compared to spokane were doubled. Therefore, I decided to get a job as a loan officer and play poker part-time. That only worked out for a couple of months and now I'm back to playing poker as my only source of income and playing primarily 20/40 and 40/80 limit and 500 nl.
Before I go I just want to give you some stats about my life so there is no confusion for future posts.
- currently single
- Moved to l.a without knowing anyone. Closest family member is 2 hrs away
- Dating a couple of women
- Playing majority of poker at the Bike and Commerce casino
- Live on my own
- 24 yrs old
